bought vehicle after it was in a minor collision.vehicle fuel pump wont work.if i dump gas in engine it starts instantly.could it be a relay or does it need a new fuel pump.please reply
first thing : when you buy cars that had been in accidents first thing you do is to start the car, that way you can hear noises within the car. . . . second: if you put gas in the engine and it starts, that could mean one – two things the pump is not pumping enougth gas to start the car and you might want to check the gas filter too. take it to someone that works on cars and wont charge a leg and arm. . . . . good luck. . . . .
After being in collision, and a no fuel situation check and reset set fuel inertia switch. Check owners manual for exact location. (usually located on drivers kick panel by the park brake) This is to shut down fuel in the event of an accident to prevent fires.
