im sore from last night… but it was titally worth it!
@kalpet73, we know The buget is enoumous,but the new political party fortunately makes better of whaling than previous JDP party.Probably they will give as much investment as possible. New vessel or new engines as those. why ?
The reason is very simple.This is the issue of sustainable resources in our future.We will keep to win the whale wars.
@kalpet73 Again, you need worry about our reputation.The reputation is something we decide for ourselves. I do not think Japan’s reputation is attainable to only stop whaling in the Antarctic.Again,you are blaming Japan as to the research ,this is the very unbelievable insult to our nation.If you have a chance of Japanese history of whaling , study more.
@kalpet73 ok,thank for pointing my misunderstandings.They do not catch minke whales in the Antarctic area,but it does not mean they respect the whale sanctuaries,though.
@Jyoushikijin
I am not worrying. I was simply noted that whaling damaged Japans reputation.
@Jyoushikijin
Well i dont think so. Yes it is possibble to continue whaling on the souther ocean, after the new regulations came to force.
But the costs will be doubled. The current annual $12 million dollar deficit will be multiplied by ten or twenty. Who will pay for this?
Considering the Y23 trillion deficit, it is hardly paid from the budget.
@Jyoushikijin
Norway is not participant in the moratorium, so they don’t need permission from IWC, and they respected the whale sanctuaries, so their practice is legal.
I don’t like it, but it is not a violation.
Thank you for advice,but if you are not a Greenpeace member,you need not worry about Japanese policies.Except whaling,there are so many issues concerned with together,(for
example,World Wide Credit Crisis)
Whaling is the very impotant policy of Japan ,as I said,our new political party
strongly enforced the security for whale fleets.We will overcome the new regulations with our hyper technologies
unattanable by you and pumpkin-head Aussies. Many thanks.
Japans self issued “research” quota is not. -This is also very strange. This year Norway shows total about 1000 minke whales ,self quota,permitted by IWC. Probably you opposed to the quota,but there is no reason which is correct,which is incorrect,so long as IWC permits.
なぜ板をとめる?こたえよ。
@PinkHarrier
Well it is a rejection indeed. Japan asked an approval, and they get this resolution.
This is not an opinion, this is an official resolution.
By the way there is a lot of similar decisions. Japan tried to get approval, but they failed every time.
This does not sound like rejection. It is merely a opinion. Scientific discussions are based on excahnge of opinions and I do not think neither party was successful in convincing others.
Well, there is no end to this. Let us see what will happen in next IWC meeting in Morocco. My feeling is that self-quota will be raised or remain the same, and definitely not banning.
With every new comment, with every new view of the video and with every new video the Sea Shepherds are getting more public awareness and because of this more popular.
australia= ****=SS
@Jyoushikijin
Well.
Japan lost half a billion dollar annually because its whaling policy. I considered it a massive loss.
Japans image around the world suffered a great deal damage due bad publicity of the whaling operations. I considered this also a formidable disadvantage.
On the other side i do not see the benefits (for Japan) of the whaling.
@Jyoushikijin
Well i am not Greenpeace.
I respect your opinion, but you need to check the foreign media to.
Japans whaling program is widely anticipated around the world. Its destroys Japans image worldwide.
By the way, the whale war is already lost by Japan. Upcoming new IMO regulations made antarctic whaling virtually impossible.
For example it will forbid the use of heavy fuel on antarctic waters.
My opinion still stands. Whaling is a big burden for todays Japan.
@Jyoushikijin
The quota for native Alaskans is approved by IWC. Japans self issued “research” quota is not.
As i already said, i opposed that too, but at least that quota is legal.
I cannot believe in this 1000 year old tradition bullshit. Whale hunt from small man powered boats, with simple tools, like natives hunts, thats tradition. Organizing a million dollar expedition to the another side of the word, using multi million dollar equipment, thats business.
you are wrong. I admit $425 million is not small seemingly ,but we do not do business with U.S .for whaling issue .
Much information of high technologies in many fields are giving & taking between two countries as business.You Greenpeace members are blind at all.
You seem to be a members of Greenpeace.If so, *** HOLE!!
we know our government feeds whale meat to school lunch. It is nice program to enforce the food choices. ”Whaling is a burden for Japan today”-No.you know the whaling is continuing in spite we change political party this year.The government is giving much investment to enforce whalers’ security .Watson will lose whale war ,this year ! it is Watson who lose respect all the world.
” natives has a legal quota to whaling.”
well ,Japan has also legally decides quota to whaling. Seemingly ,for example,the quota of 900 of minke whales is big, but the population of Minke is about 400000-760000.Far from extinct.On the other hand, the quota of Bowhead permitted by IWC is about 50 a year,its population is 10000.Calucurating
the rate, Bowhead is more dangerous in
extinction. Again,you lose the basic point-Japan is pro-whaling country for more than 1000 years.
