  2. that guys not way to excited, he’s way to high

  3. you cant make anything worse by checking fluid levels.
do it your self you cant mess anything up. if your getting a shop to do this and they are charging you $, your getting ripped off

  4. He probably put it in there with it being a heavier oil since winter is coming up. However, I also have a Mercury Sable (2005), I always put 5W20 in it, its designed to run on that same oil for all seasons. There have been reports about engines seizing because the heavier oil was added. If I were you, I would just drain the oil by removing the drain plug under the car, and put your 4.5 qts of 5W20 in, and if necessary, change the oil filter

  5. My car dosen’t have a dip stick checking the ATF, it’s a manual gearbox I think…..!

  6. Great video. I usually do not do this myself though. Afraid I might make things worse.

  7. this guy is way too excited

  8. Must keep engine hot.

  9. Just go to Mr.Lube !
They check all the fluids and top it up FREE… yes it free check and top up….

  10. Yeah, Tony is right when he says you should switch back to 5W20, but fyi, I have seen many people use the wrong spec. of viscosity and continue to do so with no apparent problems, but this is not to say you wont have any problems..its best to use what the manufacturer recommends.

  11. i’m replacing a blower motor on a 1998 ford explorer but i need a visual repair manual such as Haynes or Chilton does anyone know of a website (free of course) that i can reference to?

  12. You should definitely switch back to the manufacturer recommended motor oil. 10w40 is about twice as heavy as 5w20 and in heavy I mean viscosity. There is no need to “wait” for the next oil change, simply drain the 10w40 now and replace with 5w20.

  13. I have a 2004 Mercury Sable LS 3.0L DOHC which specifies 5w20 motor oil. I like an idiot changed the oil and added 10w40 instead of 5w20. Is there anything wrong with this? Should I switch back to 5w20 on my next oil change?

  14. When i change gear in my Grand Cherokeo , It like make a sudden movement, like forward and backwards. especialy on gears like a D and R??i was no trying the changing fluid stff in these video

  15. To get the most accurate automatic transmission fluid reading you should warm the engine to normal operating temperature and then cycle the transmission through all gears from P,R,N,D,D1,D2, etc. and back from D2,D1,D,N,R,P and then check the fluid with the engine idling and the transmission in Park.

  16. Take it to a shop if your that unaware of the problem.

  17. I don’t get that insult British people are class as best and safest drivers in the world.

Yanks can’t even work a roundabout.

  18. It is important to measure the transmission fluid with the vehicle running and also when the vehicle is at normal operating temperature.

  19. i thought the reason you check the atf with the engine running is so that you have the fluid pumped into the torque converter thats why its on the lower dot.. if you have the engine off the torque converter is only half filled so it should show up as more fluid :S

  20. my sister transmission needs to fix bad , cause the engine can start but the car can’t move so how do you fix it

  21. You need to drop the pan on the bottom of the transmission.

  22. how would chekc the transsmison fluid on a 2001 chevy alero i cant find the dipstick
