Mr HmmmmmmmmmmmVous are a bad influence !!!!. . . . LOL I like the idea. . . . Hmmmmmm It is logical, I think it would be enough pressure against creating a vacuum if it was close to the exhaust gases, while high on the collector. . . . I think my only concern is that if I understand well and there was a vacuum, there would be no pressure, and therefore a lot of noise (which could cause the “escape” is obvious). . . What size / how / where were the cuts?
I have a friend who did this. They opened small notches in the top tube (out of sight …) And it has worked for the past six years. Apparently, sucking fresh air into the exhaust registered ppm reducing smog. On the other hand, could only sustain half the inspector will have some bad gas at the station. . .
You think? At this stage, I am not opposed to trying any “tricks”, I would find a man who wanted to smog a few hundred extras. . . .

Nightmathzombieethan @ Yes. . I do not know much about CA models and smog laws. . . I live in California and here we can do whatever we want. . . A muffler shop will not cut “Cats” off, but ourselves and never done anything about it. . . They have not even the most basic checks on vehicles. . . Police can still give the tickets for the lights and broken windows. . . That’s all right. . . Oh. . . and “dangerous” tires. . . Even so, usually warnings. . . Verbal and / or written. . . Try some of the sites. . .
Heck, I’d be happy with anything! Weber carb for my car, but do not think they are California smog legal. . . . I have my carb “compound” enough to run, vacuum, and simply begins and does not work too rich or anything, still can not seem to happen if the smog. . . . . I think my problem may be elsewhere (EGR because I’m not NOX). . . Not sure if that smog jargon makes sense for you. . . . but anyway sometimes living in California, is a pain in the ***!
