FAA Audio Hudson Mid-Air Collision

18

Audio courtesy: FAA This animation consists of a two-dimensional (2-D) depiction of preliminary radar flight path information of the August 8, 2009 mid-air collision of a Piper 32 aircraft with a Eurocopter helicopter. The animation begins after the Pipers departure from Teterboro airport, and continues until the collision. The radar ground tracks for both aircraft are displayed on a satellite photo illustration of the area. The 2-D animation is followed by a three-dimensional (3-D) representation of the collision. The 3-D animation is a thirty second, chase view of the Piper 32 depicting the closure of the helicopter with the Piper, ending at the collision. After the 3-D representation, post-collision photographs obtained from witnesses are shown as still images. Selected comments from the Teterboro and Newark air traffic control (ATC) preliminary transcript are displayed as text, and the animation audio consists of portions of the recorded air traffic control communications. The animation does not depict the weather or visibility conditions at the time of the accident. www.ntsb.gov www.ntsb.gov

can not be avoided when something comes after you explain how you would on the AS350?

This rate should be charged with murder in death of 9 persons. Its your job to make sure No. 2 planes collide. However, he was busy talking on the phone, then it may have been looking at the screen. Getting a job in the TSA, if you can not manage a serious job that matters.

yeah man i was thinking the same thing, too common to hear readbacks be torn, but not totally paid too much information to the right adoptée.Je do not know if my ears playing tricks on me among the strawberry microphone, install or adjacent position appeal, and the pilot read back, but I have heard “from one to seven ….» rest point is too agitée.De couldnt anyway Teterboro tower 71MC success to care? I have not heard of trying to use this flux.whats emergency freqs the result?

  5. frequenceez says:

stop blaming the regulator. . . He has done nothing wrong. .

    beat the damn thing first!

learned in training do not always have ATC you have to analyze and look for traffic, ATC can not do everything and can make mistakes, they are people like me and you, not God. you have to look yourself up there and ATC will be there to help a little.

  8. CaptainFaisal says:

Re-read the freq wrong, but could not understand misunderstood ATC-tion until the switching frequency.

  9. TG626 says:

I’m pretty sure the vectors and altitudes we could see each other. The plane was a low wing was approached from below, you could see the plane if he stretched his head to the right. . . In any case, if bus drivers were sufficient to avoid collisions, it would be an ATC (or CT or CAWS GPWS or elsewhere). . .

  10. TG626 says:

I hear he spent the freq set wrong – if so, reads the wrong freq? (as he did not understand the instructions of the controller, the controller does not know he was not paying attention to repetition, and I know because of the horrible recording quality)

  11. CaptainFaisal says:

the fault of the drivers for change in the wrong freq. Anyway RIP all victims of the accident.

  12. AgentMulder3667 says:

There is much irony in this post. One wonders why everyone is trying to blame someone, then jump right and blame pilotes.L plane was up and out of the helicopter. From what I understand, the pilots had no way of being. Regardless, the ATV has paid attention to two points in the point of becoming one, this whole matter could have been avoided.

  13. chuckxf says:

Why is everyone trying to blame someone? It was clear and a million. . . both drivers are to blame! LOOK AND AWAY!

  14. AgentMulder3667 says:

Just shows what a little distraction can cause. The guy sounds quite competent, seems to have a handle on their work, but the talk has had its eye on the ball and killed him.

  15. fannypenis says:

Do you have cash at the end of the audio clip?

  16. planemadmatt says:

Judging by its name, is not surprising.

  17. TG626 says:

Based on this, I think the driver should be placed on costs, the death of all concerned. I had no idea what is “authorized” how to “chat”, but obviously not careful. At least twice he went to the female during the reading of a driver is back with his instructions. . .
