I bought the book and in fact is a mine of information. However, the templates and tools you need to do a full rebuild correctly transsexual will cost more than what you’ll save trying to rebuild yourself. its not worth it. hell i had a shop rebuild trust throw mine put it back in line frames facory replaced the cooler and torque converter and I got a 2 year warranty on it for under $. . . hell im an aircraft mechanic and would not try to rebuild my # s matching tranny. It’s like Clint Eastwood said “a Mans to know his limitations.”.

Lots of good detail and easy to understand information for the experienced engineer, even if you have never rebuilt an automatic transmission.

Wonderful. I read this book to end. I never touched a transmission, and the subject always intimidated me. I knew that the general theory, but after reading this book I feel confident to rebuild my own TH400. At least if I try, I know where to look and how to report problems to someone else now!

I am a mechanic and find the manual made to be comprehensive. I have not done the work, but reading the manual and appreciate the author has taken the mystery out of automatic transmissions. It is cost conscious and shows how to work with common workshop tools instead of expensive special tools OEM. It also explains in detail the advantages and disadvantages of change, either high performance or improved performance. I can not wait to get started!

This book is wonderful. Without any prior experience with automatic transmissions that have successfully used this book and previous books, Mr. sessions in the Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 to rebuild two transmissions. For the beginner, you only need a Master Rebuild Kit and about two weeks of patience, and you can save more than $ 1000 for doing what they rebuild. The book has a good discussion of the theory, but you can go directly to “how” and follow the sections of text / images to see a happy ending.
