Okay my old car (2000 Sunfire) needs brakes, rotors and wheel barings. It needs a new coolant resevoir, bc it leaks and there is also an oil leak into the 3rd cylinder (I don’t really know what that means, mechanic tells me this). I am planning on selling the car as is, but I am disclosing all this info and hoping to figure out how much these repairs would cost a) from a mechanic and B) just parts to do it yourself. Just trying to set a fair price for selling it as is! Thanks, where I live this car in good working condition goes for about $2000-2500.
Well i listed the car for 900, it isn’t it fabulous shape…. the one front tire has a slow leak and the hubcaps aren’t lookin to good either. I know its not easy work.. I was hoping someone who fixes cars would buy it and maybe re-sell it. The mechanic who looked at it didn’t seem to think the oil leak was an expensive problem.. but again, I don’t know much about cars. The body is in decent shape. No dents or anything, a tiny bit of rust and a scratch here and there but nothing significant. I am getting flooded with responses for 900 dollars, but I think once everything is on the table I will be lucky to get the 900, i just dont want to be greedy!
Btw its a 2.4 litre engine, with 170,000km (sorry not sure what that is in miles off hand) and its automatic/2 door.

and the exclusion of the leak in the cylender. . . Looking around 500 parts for brakes, rotors, bearings, and the tank. in a shop, I have no idea. I do most of my own just to be your travail.Si 1000-1500 would be fair, if the tires are in good condition.
The price seems very fair.
With the problems you mentioned I might be able to get $ 1000-1500 for the car. Sunfire / Knight were very cheap cars built, designed to offer consumers the opportunity to buy new for less than $ 10,000. If the oil is in the drum due to the cycles of oil hit the # 3 cylinder may well be about to partir.Freins and plain do not go in a do-it-yourselfer well over $ 600-700 a tank refrigerant is not really a big deal either. . but the oil leak in # 3 cylinders can make or break the sale. It would also be useful to get a compression test done by the voiture.Exemple mileage / condition of the body and tires would help to determine the value.
