It’s been a while, I’ve missed you. In this little tutorial I’m covering the basics of diagnosing a Honda ignition system. I had some technical difficulties while doing this one (I forgot to press record on a couple of occasions and missed a couple of shots) and didn’t get all that I had hoped in this video. In particular I was hoping to show the use of a test light to do this diagnosis but didn’t get all the footage necessary so I’ll go back and shoot that at a later date. I’m hoping there is enough information here to get you started in understanding and diagnosing your ignition system so that you don’t have to buy stuff you don’t need trying to fix a problem. @ Jmax95 have not seen anything more than normal in early Honda H22, but I saw a lot of modified cars like yours in question. The best advice I can give is to check the basics, spark, fuel, and motor mechanics. With a car like yours is really anybodies guess what is causing the start, turn to the basics and go from there. Logical and methodical work and you will solve the problem.
Eric, I checked my car and now I’m wit and ECU and fuel pump are good for the rest to keep my car not start? it is a ’95 civic with a h22. u never heard of problems starting h22s?
@ Raviraay Actually no, I will summarize, instead I will ask to see the video once again that all your questions will be answered with another observation or two. It would take too long to write, plus you can make videos to show the procedures because I fell better illustrates the process. A picture is worth a thousand words as they say, and I shoot 60 frames per second.
Eric, thanks for answering my comment in the video. Can you summarize the test and add the video description area. If I said that a diagnosis) Check the spark plug (no need to turn right?) – What happens when there are no sparks and cause 2) Check the coil-What happens if there are three candles) No spark at the coil and go to the next test (lighter) – What the two conditions (red flashing or not). Thank you.

@ Chadnfs OK Have you checked the failure of a gasket checking for leaks of combustion in the cooling system or do a compression test? Have you checked for leaks in vacuum? If this is not the loss of both our time.
I changed it cover gasket valve recently, but not the headgasket. . . Information I have is that just today I started my car and I felt good and I thought it was OK, but I was wrong and began to hear the man i score this is not the dealer. . . You can make a video about the technology platforms and things that could go wrong in the areas
@ Kevykev38 so let’s start with this type of reel you use, good quality? Then you should be sure to hang properly, since it only works if you have connected again, but may fail prematurely. You can also try moving to another location that is cooler. The resistance that I think your friend is, in fact, referring to the primary side of inflammation, the thought that white block on the firewall of a Dodge that usually go bad all the time.
@ chadnfs Have you checked for a leak of combustion in the cooling system, like a bad head gasket? I said check the vacuum leaks not just empty. You can keep throwing parts at it if it makes you feel better though.

fuel pump is always man OEM specifications. . . and verify that I vacuum and I have a good vacuum that what the engineer told me at one point but could do little cousin who has a diagnosis for my coat hook. . . I tested and had no luck. That was when I received a new ignition coil and still no luck. tryd ECU and I was in my car and friends stil no spark. ill check my fuses. the patient can be checked with a test light if my + c is on. Thanks man.
@ Jmax95 You have not been tested in the video that you? Okay just trying to diagnose something before replacing parts on the future, it might save you money. Since you have an engine change, I would check the connections to the switchboard and fuses for power the ignition system. Make sure that the power of the coil (+), if not the cause.
Hi Eric I have a ’95 civic with a h22 exchange and im getting no spark. I just struggle of a new coil and starter and dizziness. and my departure is not yet
@ ThirdRomeAquilo Well, I can not fault for not following the instructions in the video, since control of the spark to the first coil. Their light would not have died, some of them have built in circuit breaker can be reset, you can see yours. I’m so sorry to hear of your light, I recommend you replace it with a power sensor that I used in the video that you can do much more with what you can with an ordinary lamp, d a value of money.
Wow thanks for killing my test light! I put it in Terminal B (-) screws below the coil. The light went on. Rotate the engine and see the blinking light, as you said. He did. For about 5 seconds. Frito my light. It was a beautiful as well, at a cost of $ 25. All three LED morts.Maintenant is just a push rod that can **** it. So I stayed in the spring and connected to the motor. Its got spark. It’s time to order the new CAP + rotor and send you a bill for a new light test.
@ Chadnfs On the basis of his message and the symptoms you describe to start by checking for leaks of combustion in the cooling system (see my video of overheating diagnosis for this test.) You might have a problem with head gasket. If this is not a problem to find vacuum leaks around consumption. If you replaced the fuel pump Honda, with a secondary market, I recommend that the exchange back to the original pump is a lot better.
Hello Eric. . . I have a Honda Civic 92. . . I have a problem with it. . . I recently changed the spark plug and the son also of the CAP and the rotor for a month. Now I have a problem and I do not know what is wrong with him. Even changed the fuel system as a pump and filter as well. . He has problems to start and idle is rough and whenever I give a little gas it dies. . . and sometimes just died while idling and a bit of smoke
@ Trecey920 I can check the connections and check the starter anyway, most entries these days are reconstructed, and depending on the quality mark can sometimes be incomplete.

Trecey920 @ If you turn the key and it clicks and nothing happens, it usually means one of two things, the starter is bad or there is a bad connection. Check all connections and the starter motor (can be hit with a hammer to see if it starts, if it does then I can replace the starter motor).
@ EricTheCarGuy Fuses have been checked, they were good. person who did this, took the battery of his wife’s car that works well and put it in my car, connected, has not yet begun. . I took my cell that I bought them was tested and the test came back saying the battery is good.
