My wife bought her 2001 Saturn SL1 from a dealership in 2004. At the time of buying, she asked the salesman if the car was ever in an accident and he said no, so all was well and she paid the asking price of $9995. She now commutes more and wants a car with a little more power behind the wheels, so we went to test drive cars last week at the same dealership (which would make it the third car we bought from them) and while we were out, they appraised her car and did a vin check and told us that in 2002 it was in a $5200 front end collision using Car Proof and are now offering us peanuts for the car because of it.
They told us that in 2004 they could only check back one year of the history on a Vin (which sounds like total BS) whereas now they can check the whole history.
Does anyone know if they are being honest, or are we being lied to? Or know of anywhere that I can get more information? I live in Canada, obviously that will make a difference.
Thanks.

I think he was lying.
I work for a car insurance agency well, I know you lied.
Contact NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association), Canada or call 1-800-533-6000 Saturn www. Saturn. com and tell you.
He lied. When a purchasing agent car history reports, puts the same report, you can get, but you pay less than companies like CARFAX build a database of vehicle registrations that are offered by dealers, service stations and insurance companies. The report is the report is the rapport.Exécution Vin 2004 and 2007 always shows the same files that were added to report history in 2002.a this stage, it’s fair to submit your story to the Better Business Bureau http://www .
