This book has very good early in the blue engine (as its name suggests), but tends to be more Chevy / American motor oriented. With a return on imports of these days (European and Japanese four straight and six legs straight, bend cam v-tec, and four or five heads of the valve), an updated version of a large area is necessary. appropriate photographs make the text easy to understand, and stakeholders is simple. If you are not a professional engine builder, at least you’ll know what to ask for the next time you visit the machine shop.

This book provides the information needed to help move towards the development or improvement of major motor skills of the construction. What is not and should not have the numbers for your particular combination. For example: If you build a small block Ford, you do not say that the height of your PIN must be XYZ ABC with stroke. What it does is tell you how to use precision tools needed to assemble the cylinder heads, short blocks (including degreeing the camera) and all the necessary formulas to rate compression, CID, etc. etc. The material is well presented and full of a lot of good unbiased information common to a particular brand of motor. Although the pieces of small-block Chevy is pictorialized throughout the book, text and information apply to any motor. An example that describes how to verify the length and geometry of the rocker button alone is worth $. . . . Impressive, is the engine full of Blues reading without forcing them to go step by step, but given in a logical order. Be careful. Rob!

I bought and read several books on motor Blues before starting my project 396 stroker LT1. Voeglin book is a step by step, unless its been revised since I read it, but it flows in a logical order. What he has is one of the best tips and more complete than to see and why. This book is not for all Plastigauge: You need a set of micrometers and, preferably, a dial of the measuring head, etc really teach you how to use them. As most of these books, which revolves around the small block Chevy, but is not specific to them: it provides information in many places away from the Mopar and Ford Chevrolet.

You can provide a variety of checklists for the preparation and suggested mods for different levels of performance. You can add a project planning guide and checklist. You can add a suggested sequence of tasks of planning and implementation of an engine project.
