   so I had the car towed to another shop who was still under the DRP but his estimate caused the insurance company to total out the vehicle which I initally thought it should. Had I stayed with this original repair shop I too would have been a victim of beening forced to ride in an unsafe vehicle because the shop wanted to make money and the insurance company wanted to save money

   I am so glad that these guys are standing up to the pressure that is being mandated by the insurance companies to use the Direct Repair Program. I was in an auto accident last month and although I am not an autobody repair person I knew that the quote on repairs that the body shop that they sent me too was very low considering the damage (see next post too long)

   The point of this complaint isn’t about the shop. It’s about the direction insurance companies have taken in order to steer dollar signs in their favor. Insurance companies are in business to make money. Even if said customer gets the shoddy repair has life insurance policies with said insurance company… and someone dies… they’ve still made enough money off of the statistical data and loopholes. It’s up to shops to reestablish a true union, and code of ethics against insurance companys

   So what happens when the insurance company makes the you pick the shop and it is done incorrectly? They just keep repeating “You picked the shop” and they are right, they have no obligation to help you resolve the issue. It can even come to the point they agree with the shop just to close the claim. Google “bad auto body repairs” use the quotes. Check out pictures at rochestercenter of what you could happen to you. I feel it’s better to have the insurance company on the hook for the repair.

   I adhere to the ABAC Code of Ethics. This customer was a victim of fraud by the insurance company and the shop that supposedly repaired the vehiclet. Our safety inspections are for safety. The collision industry and collision repairers have the lives and safety of the motoring public in their hands.. This is why ethical standards are needed for us to embrace. Tac welding 6 inches of dogleg and sculpting in filler from the center piller to the quarter left anyone in the rear seat in harms way.

   Free safety inspection, huh? Gee, I suppose that would be like a financial advisor offering a free inspection. He is BOUND to find something wrong. I own a body shop and I believe I could find somehting wrong with your work too.
