lol so am i…. i went to the SHLSS down at piney point maryland. and when you go full rudder you go to 30 degrees then ease ur way five degrees. if you go directly to 35 you can jam the rudder not saying every time but when ur on the sea you dont want to take that chance unless your in danger of capsizing.
A rudder doesnt get jammed just becoz you turn it full. Its not always like that.
Mates prefer a max rudder angle of upto 35 degrees on port/starboard lest the vessel might capsize.
And Believe me…cuz i m a sea farer myself.
