A sleeping person is more likely to survive because they do not tense up. Same thing with drunks. The cause of death is normally internal injuries.
I have lost freinds to car accidents and been the scene of many. it is hard to deal with, but I won’t lie to you. She probolly was in some pain. I would not say she suffered. Internal injuries cause a slow system shut down alot like sleeping.
Well the main reason why deaths occur in head on collisions is due to the impact of the crash. When you are hit head on by another vehicle, the chances are very likely that you will encounter massive head trauma. So if you are hit head on, then your head will take in a lot of damage causing brain injury which can lead to spinal damage and eventually death if the crash is severe enough. As for the one that survived there are a couple of variables to note. If she were in the back seat which is likely, then the damage is not as great from the back than it is from the front when dealing with a head on collision. Those in the front take in more damage than those in the back. Secondly, when someone is sleeping, their body may not respond so quickly to the trauma because it is in an altered state. It is like being drunk. Drunk drivers are more likely to walk away from a crash un-injured because the alcohol has altered their status. The same thing with someone sleeping.
