I believe it’s not an original Arabic word. It is rather used by people. They also say ” bank ” to refer to a bank , and ” taxi ” to refer to a taxi. So I don’t believe it’s from the language itself. What I mean is they sometimes use English words while speaking.

In this case the implementation of flight rules and equipment in Indian airspace should have been done years before. Also, the TCAS onboard equipment should have been carried out by the airlines. This is wholeheartedly a 3rd world disaster. TCAS, English speaking crew, secondary ATC radar, etc. , were all long before implemented in the developed world. No excuses – a truly avoidable tragedy.

What a horrible accident. To act after a catastrophe is always the case as there will be thousands of possible crash scenarios to consider if they act proactively. The critical ones get answered. . the resources and the cost doesnt justify solving each and every small probability. That’s why its so important to follow instructions which the Kazakh pilot did not.
oh yea i know about that one . . . . where pan am and KLM was involved in that collision but to correct you sir it wasnt MID AIR? i repeat MID AIR collision ok the both planes were on the runway when that happend klm was on takeoff roll and pan was turning on to the he taxiway!. . . . . .
glasswings21. . . . a small correction, that was the dealiest MID-AIR collision in aviation history. the highest death total occured back in the 70′s when two 747′s collided on the runway in Tenerife.
Kazakhs made numerous errors during their flight pattern towards delhi airport . . . . . and specially not following or lack of understanding of ATC instructions given by delhi ATC. . . . . caused this deadliest disaster in aviation history!
